Burning Buildings

Buildings on fire have a number of burning surfaces. These squares do the regular 2d6 fire damage to anyone standing on them at the start of their turn, and 1d6 to anyone passing through those squares.

When a person is on fire

The fire advances as a Lair action, with more actions the more flaming squares present.

Intensity 1

Less than 5 flaming squares

Action: ignite all enkindled squares.
Action: enkindle 1 square.

Intensity 2

5 to 15 Squares

All flaming squares are lightly obscured.

Action: ignite all enkindled squares.
Action: enkindle 1 square.
Action: enkindle 1 square at 15 ft radius, OR set 1 character currently in a flaming square On Fire.

Intensity 3

15 to 30

All flaming squares are lightly obscured.
All rooms with flaming square are lightly obscured, up to 30 ft from the fire.

Action: ignite all enkindled squares.
Action: enkindle 2 squares.
Action: enkindle 1 square at 15 ft radius, OR set 1 character currently in a flaming square On Fire.

Intensity 4

All flaming squares are heavily obscured.
All rooms with flaming square are lightly obscured, up to 30 ft from the fire.
Standing on a flaming square requires at DC 10 Constitution save, or the character gains a level of exhaustion.

Action: ignite all enkindled squares.
Action: enkindle 2 squares.
Action: enkindle 1 square at 15 ft radius, OR set 1 character currently in a flaming square On Fire.
Action: 1 flaming square is destroyed, becoming a hole to a lower floor, OR 1 square above a flaming square is enkindled, OR 1 wall is destroyed, and the square beyond is enkindled
